If Arizona families consider the importance of Phoenix Children’s Hospital to the wellbeing of their sons and daughters, they would probably marvel over the efforts of the pediatricians and community leaders who established this independent, non-profit, 307-bed institution. No facility existed when the hospital was incorporated in 1980, and Allen L. Rosenberg was elected President of the Board if Directors. The new organization began operating in 1983 on the campus of Phoenix’s Good Samaritan Hospital. By 1999, Phoenix had become the nation’s sixth largest city, and leaders agreed that it needed a hospital solely for children. A three-year program was completed in 2002.

Recently, the hospital welcomed a vital new component to its complex: Rosenberg Medical Office Plaza, designed by The Stein-Cox Group and developed my Ensemble Real Estate. The three-story, 68,000-square-foot structure, honoring Allen Rosenberg and his late wife Rose, provides physicians’ offices and an outpatient surgery center in a setting designed to blend with the campus architecture. Like Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Rosenberg Plaza is proving to be functional, sophisticated-and fun.
